I'll leave the saucing or lack there of up to the locals, but the bowl definitely rides more like a skatepark than a gnarly backyard pool - so in my opinion a little sauce isn't a bad thing for maintenance and wear.
Not that it matters any now, but I think a waterfall would have given the bowl a little more rhythm than the driveway-style flatbottom. I know the same guys built it - but it definitely feels a lot like steve's mini-bowl. Maybe a few quirks here and there that add to the bowl's character, but overall a very fun and enjoyable bowl. The NS locs are stoked.
Phase 2, cradle-fullpipe... _________________ ### |

| I was wondering since the city allowed the bowl to be redesigned with no blueprints on the skatepark land, if that might open up the possibility of other bowls to be added near other skatepark locations since they don't take up a ton of square footage. Just thinking how Kamiloiki has a bunch of extra space around it. |

the neighbors already hate the hawaii kai park because of the parking and the noise afterhours so i dont think thats a good spot. banzai rock on the other hand is ripe but one must wait until they have finished which could be a while (Bathrooms and parking must be completed.).also very good tip about banzai: its a mud pit on the way in so bring slippers or your shoes will be ruined..another killer place makiki where those vans are parked would be a beautiful spot that park is starting to show some wear and tear and there is some ruff spots where the tranny meets the flat.. _________________ Skate And Mate! | Well Have you heard about the Kaimuki Skatepark that there getting approved? I was looking at the east oahu paper and saw that they have already got a bunch of the stuff passed and whatever it is they need to do to get a skatepark built. I thought it would be great at Kapiolani Park by the fountain side where its nice and breezy but i think hey already have a different location set. Maybe we can get that place to be a great spot seeing that its pretty central. also I hope that we can keep getting stuff built on the north shore i mean theres so much room. concrete wonderland. and eventually a mini ramp would be a cheap and easy way to get a lot of the kids out of the park so they stop making traffic. |

| OK, I know this info is probably somewhere on this thread or the site, but I can't find it. Where is this park and how do I get there? I'm looking at the videos of the pool and it looks FUN. |

I don't know how familiar you are with the North Shore of Oahu, but this map should get you in the area. It's been about 3 months since I've been there, so I'm not sure what it looks like from the road, but you couldn't see the park from the road, because of the tall california grass and trees. I'm pretty sure nothing's changed. There is no sign or distinguishing feature that indicates where the park is. . . just a lot of tall grass and trees. The skatepark is set back about 50 meters from Kamehameha Hwy. Hope this helps. _________________ you're crazy |

Thanks man. This is exactly the info I needed. I drove by there a couple of weeks ago and couldn't see it from the road and didn't see any signs, so this info is really helpful.
Thanks. |
