North Shore Gets A Piece Of Crap Park!

Work Has Begun Again On The North Shore Park. This Time They Have California Skateparks In On It. Nothing higher than 4 feet and mostly street plaza stuff going in..This is what we get for 12 years of lobbying! How fucked is that.. Donavan Dela Cruz You lose.........or do we?

This is very bad. To imagine the progression of skate parks from Makiki (2000) to Kapolei (2006) we end up back at square one with another crappy Makiki!!! Actually while you're at it, may as well add it right up there with the crap at Eva Beach and Waianae.

North shore skaters and surfers will have very little interest in 4" and under. I thought California Skateparks would have more pride then to stoop to this level and build such crap. Skateboarding and skate park design has progressed way beyond these designs of the 90s.

Looks like NS might have been better off sticking with the first design with Dreamland tweeks... and you would have been skating it years ago... o'well.... that's a shame about what going to happen now...

I'm just hoping more of the North Shore locals and their parents that frequent Steve's everyday and never helped out will finally put down the bong and show they give a fuck.

Props to the Crank and Carve guys and the rest of the skaters that have been showing up to the meetings and that actually give a fuck.

Also I Have The Original Plans Of Banzai If Someone Needs To Compare Them To Anything. it is a 12 page booklet with everything from drainage to property lines to parking lot designations get a hold of me if you need to as this might help in our fight to save this park...

I disagree. They need to know how we feel about this situation. We've been pushing for this park for so long i cant remember. even my mom was helping me with this when she was part of the north shore neighborhood board way back in the 80s and 90s. this is big decision on the future for these kids on the north shore.do you want them to pick up ice pipes instead of skateboards? well thats what will happen if they get a shitty park.. Im saying our voices need to be heard and i have a few freinds that work for the advertiser and the weekly and im gonna be organizing something i just havent figured out what. we just need to get alot of heads together so we can deal with this.. NORTH SHORE PEOPLE ESPECIALLY!

If Maui's not getting anything built, it's because people on Maui are not fighting hard enough to make it happen. I know there's a good scene going on over there. Those guys who are making the scene need to make it happen.
