the lost energy drink promo in mililani went off o-k. the bmxers were there representing and so were the local skaters, congrats to the kids and guys who won hats and shirts. there was some sick moves being thrown down and we got it on film. sorry guys the photos will be edited and sent to lost headquarters for registry ( no photos will be given to the public, except for the individual who talked to me about his sons shots.) we ran out of samples so we ended up closing up shop before 4:00 pm, but we did get 430 pictures...... this upcomming week we will not be out in the trade but will return on the weekend of the may 6th. location to be announced on april 30th-2007. aloha !

Is that how the DJs do it these days? Just dance around while the computer plays their shit back? Seems pretty gay to me.

Then again, I don't like or care much about hip-hop music anyway so disregard my opinion.

What I don't understand is what does any of this have to do with skateboarding? Of course the promos will be a sucess, giving out free liquid crack to the kids at high noon, who would turn it down?

Just because it's at the skatepark doesn't make it a skate promo. Are these events promoting skateboarding? If so then how? Are the organizers cleaning up the park and the surrounding area?

Smells like spam to me.

there needs to be more alcohol giveaways. beer is a big part of skateboarding.

True. PBR and Zig Zag should sponsor some events.

Here's a little clue. APB put on a contest last month. Blue Hawaii did one last Saturday and Big Daddy Kays is putting on one today. How about going to those events and handing out free drinks. Now that would be a skate promo. Kavet even asked for some support for Prototype events, that's 4 chances to help groups that are skateboarding. Just saying.

o.k...i just flew back this afternoon and read whats been said.....
you all have points and i'll try to answer the best that i can being in my shoes........
1. its a lost energy drink promo..
2. we choose to come to skateparks because that is the core crowd that the brand was made for.
3. i give it away because i can.
4. i post where i'm going to be so contest promoters that do skate promo's and contests can find me and approach me in person so we can sit down and discuss future events....in person....we want to get involved with the skate community but the skate community needs to see what we have to offer. and we do so openly and freely.
5.for littering....i tell all the kids and adults to please throw the cans away in the trash.....when i leave these spots i discard cans that some people leave around, but what happens when i leave i cannot stop....does that make me a bad promoter.....then say so and when i leave these places i will take all the trash with me.
6. for KTC. e mail me your info and i'll see what i can do for you....no promises.
7. for the BIG ISLAND.... i got your message and have forwarded it to my superiors....we will do something to help the big islanders in their upcomming event.
8. i do free photo sessions to help with skateboarding exposure through the lost energy brands. these photos go straight to the mainland for review. local sponsered and non sponsered skaters shredding their local spots being exposed by a energy drink brand that was made for them.
9. i dont get paid to do this...i am a volunteer.
10. if you wonder why i do this read #3.

businesses are the core of any skate community. but they should only be at the core if they are in business for skateboarding not because of skateboarding.

nothing is free, someone is paying for it somehow.

thanks for the connection. big island needs some energy.

You couldn't be more wrong. Skaters are the core of all skate communities.
