To say the least this video shocked me. Who knew Mike was such a wildman? From the first five minutes of the video, where Mike leads his ska band the Jersey Geriatrics through a frenzied set of moshing and fist-pumping action live at LA's Troubadour, all the way through the end of the video, where Mike almost gets himself and (as he likes to say it) "his posse" thrown in jail for a credit card scheme they ran throughout Finland on a recent European tour, Stand Strong is a brutal, unapologetic look at life in the fast lane and the women who love them for it.
My favorite part of the video is the catchy phrase Mike uses throughout, "that's how we do it, baby". He says it once in the video during a recent gambling spree in Vegas after spreading out about $10 gs on the poker table.
On a scale of 1 to 5, I'd have to give this video only a 4, just because of the constant glorifying of pot and malt liquor usage, which is so 90s. But all things considered, I'd have to say Mike V. is a truly a ruler of all terrain. Mini-ramp, street, vert demo, Mike puts his all into it and is willing to sacrifice his body for our entertainment. For this we salute Mike Vallely and hope he continues to Stand Strong.
