Vans Skatepark - CA

Burnside - OR

What more can we say? This BP guy gets around. Even as I write this, he's off in Spain on a 3 week vacation. It's quite possible he isn't even a resident in the state of Hawaii. Fortunately for us, he always brings along a camera. In case you're unfamiliar with BP's travels, check out BP in NYC, and BP Tosses the Caber, which are in summary:
- BP in NYC A story about experimentation on a poor albino rat.
- BP Tosses the Caber BP's quest to save his sight after a throng of wild adoring skate sluts try to rip his eyeballs out in a crazy drunkfest at the Livi skatepark(!!)
So go ahead and brush up on all those then, you know, use the back button to get back over here so you can read the rest of this page. Or, if you want, read the rest of this page and then go back and read the older ones, because it's not in chronological order, and there aren't any recurring characters or themes in them anyway. Bottom line is whatever.
My plan was simple. To hit up two west coast cities in two weeks. The only requirement; to make it to more bars than skateparks, a task easily acomplished.
Week one - CA

That "other" bowl at the Vans Skatepark

L.A. (LBC to be exact) Sargis was sick so I opted for Zitter's bachelor pad. The local crew consisting of Sargis, Joel, Fred, and his brother hooked me up with a session at the Vans Megaplex. By the time we got in and padded up, we only had an hour and a half to rule the place. Trying to learn this park in this amount of time is comparable to trying to learn a new language in one day, especially while trying to shoot photos at the same time. All I can say is that the place rules. It's a crazy mix of terrain for any skate pleasure, not to mention a true example of just how commercial skateboarding has become, for better or worse.

Left Picture of some kid, I can't even remember his name, but I think he broke his arm or something and Brandon wanted his picture on the page

Week two - OR
Portland. Jessica and Genielle set me up at their place which happened to be a mile from Burnside. Sargis and I sessioned on day one. He left on The Greyhound that evening to travel south where he could be more at home with the hippies and surf in the snow with his brother Tony. I opted for the daily routine of Burnside and Mcmenamin's pubs with Morgan and his crew. Thanks to all who put me up and took me out. It was a great time and kind of got me back into skating...... actually, I'll always have a place in my heart for the sport, and lifestyle. peace dogler!!!
